Round here, we took advantage of a perfect summer day, and drove out to Wyangla Dam, for a swim and play.
Bean drove us out there – she is doing really well with her driving, her mama is not doing so well with the backseat driving… It’s a real struggle!
As we were lazing about on the water with our boards and noodles, I remembered how we used to go to the dam a lot when I was younger – we’d pop out for a picnic dinner on a hot summer Friday night, we’d have BBQs with friends and family, we had friends who would come for a week with their boats who taught us to ski (albeit not very well!)
I had forgotten how much fun we had as kids at the dam, and I had totally forgotten that we had this huge resource virtually in our backyard.
Sometimes we are so stuck in our day-to-day lives that we forget about the beautiful resources we have available to us.
Sunday, as we were going about our weekly set up – the thousand loads of washing, decluttering the entranceway, figuring out what to cook for dinner that week, everyone at some point said to me ‘That was so nice yesterday, I can’t wait to go again.’
‘Same’ I replied.
What’s in your backyard that you could explore this weekend?
