ART JOURNALS [January – April 2022]

JANUARY – APRIL 2022

It’s hard to believe that we are now in June and the first half of 2022 is almost over.

My art journalling practice has changed slightly this year from the last. As the country has opened up as to have in person markets and other social and school activities.

We have gone from hardly any school events and lockdowns to our calendars exploding with the all the things – it’s like we are making up for the last few years of cancellations, nothingness and lockdowns.

To be honest I would much prefer to have a less packed calendar, however I know my girls would be devastated to have their events cancelled once again.

So while I have been art journalling still, it isn’t almost every day like it was last year. I aim for three – four times a week, but I am super happy to get into it twice a week. And as it isn’t every other day, I have relaxed the hour rule to it until the page is finished.

And I am excited to share this years journal pages so far – I am very interested to see the slight changes in my style from last year.

JANUARY

FEBRUARY

The terrible trio went back to school in February so there was more time to dig into my art journals…

MARCH

March was a turbulent month in the Mac house hold. Lots going on. Big emotions. Lots to work though.

APRIL

April 2022 – the lost month….. Well that’s what I have been calling it. School holidays, Easter, visitors 24/7, two big markets to prepare for and again so many school events! So unfortunately my journalling took a back seat to everything else. And mentally I really felt the loss. I have vowed to do holidays differently now.

It’s so interesting to me to see our lives through my art journals. I can see a page and remember – oh thats when that kid was going through that thing. Or that was when I just wanted to have fun.

And again I don’t think I can pick a favourite – can you?

From my whimsy world to yours.
