THE MORRIGAN
Last year my nephew had a god and goddess party for his birthday as he was slightly obsessed with the Percy Jackson books.
But instead of going as a greek or roman goddess I decided to delve into my Celtic ancestry and choose a goddess from that pantheon.
I have always loved the idea of the Morrigan: a triple goddess, the phantom queen, the keeper of both birth and death. A goddess of war and a shapeshifter.
And the more I read about her the more I knew I wanted to paint her as part of my Angels and Empress series. And while painting her I wasn’t always sure how she would end up – there were some WTF moments when I thought I may have to paint over her, but I think she may be one of my favourites to date!
The original painting is up for sale, or alternatively you can order print of the Morrigan on my shop page here.
