ASCENDANT
If you read my post last month title ‘JUST BE’ you can tell that there was a lot of shit swirling around in both my life and in my head at the time of that painting.
And because of the clarity I found after painting JUST BE, I made a real commitment to include a lot more painting and art journalling into my everyday life. And to take pleasure from it again, not paint just to sell or to appeal to the masses.
And as a result of that promise to myself I have been making some really fun and interesting journal pages and it has inspired the 52 days project and my very personal (maybe never to be shared) BOS project.
Ascendant was created as a response to the daily grind, a reminder to ascend above the shit, to keep my head up and my eyes clear and my heart full.
None of this painting was planned including the dictionary page that I used and that eventually inspired the feeling behind this painting!
But I loved it and the process so much that I ended up including it in the the Discover your Creative Squeak Mixed Media workshop! And I think they enjoyed it too!
