I want to share with you today one of my favourite paintings from 2018 and one that is so popular that the prints from this painting sell out at almost every market!
This is a painting that I wasn’t sure that I would actually sell. At the end of August last year, I was accepted to my very first River and Wren markets and I also had my exhibition on at the Japanese Gardens, so I had to paint a few paintings for River and Wren.
And it was only that I didn’t have enough paintings for my display that I ended up hanging her up.
At the end of the day, Llama’s Kiss was still on my display and I did a little happy dance, that I was taking her home with me – I had decided I was going to hang this painting in my studio, because I just loved it so much.
But I believe that my paintings will find their right home. And at the very last moment of that market, Llama’s Kiss found their new forever home!
From the minute I had conceptualised this painting, to the finishing brush strokes both characters just flowed and came alive on the canvas.
Almost a year later, this is still one of my favourite paintings – luckily I know the artist 🙂 so I have a print in my studio, along with a necklace and ring with them on!
