I am surrounded by half finished projects. Projects that I, (and Mac + I) have begun but not quite finished.
Everywhere I look I am reminded by my ‘half-done’ status. And some of these projects are years in the making…
Our home is still a half done project. The renovations we began all the way back in 2017 is still in the state of “not finished yet”. Our mud pit backyard is thankfully no longer a mud pit but is still a long way from being finished completely and red clay still rules the yard. Even the curtains in our bedroom that I sowed way back in 2010 are still not totally finished.
And please don’t look too closely in the LilliBean Studio!
Because you will see the arrows that I bought to decorate and hang on the studio wall, or the massive wooden hoop that is the start of a dream catcher for the lounge room. Look even closer and there are the little hand made dream catchers I started with the terrible trio three years ago!
Then there is the whimsy box project that I wanted to start sending out (half made), the art drop project I wanted to start (started but not done), the Harry Potter project (one painting out of twelve ain’t bad right??), and that half started painting that I need to finish from four years ago (will my style still match it??)….
So I decided to declare 2019 the year of finished projects. And all these little projects I have surrounding me, are now on one massive list that I see everyday when I start in the studio.
I have decided that to help me with this declaration I would out myself to y’all and you my accountability buddies 😊 (#sorrynotsorry)
Mainly because I am terrible at follow through for projects that don’t have absolute deadlines – they become one day projects. (never day projects really!) And as I know myself pretty well, I can almost 100% guarantee with out this accountability I would procrastinate and not finish anything on the big scary list.
So my plan is to share with you a little project I have been working on in each newsletter till the end of the year. On my website I will have an in depth feature if the project is art related. And on my social feeds I will share little snippets of projects I am working on and I encourage you to share any pics of your ‘half-done’ projects with me and the other ‘half-doners’ out there!
So what which project am I going to finish this month?

HALF-DONE PROJECT: MAY
I am almost embarrassed to share that this project is nearly three years old now with only a dab of paint on one arrow so far!
I had the idea to buy generic arrows and decorate them with the feathers I have collected and other bits and pieces and then hang them on the wall.
Let the first half-done project commence!
P.S Can’t wait to share with me your own half-done projects! Hit reply to let me know what you’re working on this month!
P.S.S: This was originally sent out to my Snippet Subscribers – a monthlyish email that I send out to those who want to see more behind the scenes videos, first painting views, freebies and painting techniques. You can sign up too – click on the links below…
