COMMISSIONED ART WORK [Foxy + Ellie]

There is nothing like trying to paint during the hottest part of the summer, but that is exactly what happened when I was painting this commission for my Cuz-in-law, a wee foxy for her baby fox!

Like the other commission I had to do in Jan (see Izy and her Cat here) the paint dried before I had a chance to put it onto the paper, this time I didn’t have the luxury of a cool change, I just had to slog through it – painting in the morning rather than at night, rigging up fans in the hallway to push the cool air through to my studio, just swearing and painting fast!!

So I was very happy when it turned out and my Cuz-in-law loved it.

And immediately had me pencil in another one for her son for his birthday.

Well of course May is a very long time away from February, but it came around quicker than I thought, but this time I didn’t have the issues with paint drying and gross heat, just a studio that was a complete and utter mess after CBR Handmade!

However Ellie was a very cooperative painting (unlike some of my others) and he soon took shape on the page, and made it JUST IN TIME for the birthday boy  to open on his special day!

Every time I package up a painting to be sent off to their new homes, I am so nervousness so it is so awesome when I receive that message telling me how much they love it! SO SO awesome! And these were such fun to paint! I loved it!

If you have an idea for a painting for you or some one else, why not pop over to my commissions page and see some of the different paintings I’ve completed for clients over the last four years! I’d love to hear what you would create!
